Tim chairs Nexsen Pruet’s Intellectual Property practice group. A registered patent attorney with more than 60 jury trials to verdict as lead counsel, Tim has a skill set not often found: lots of experience in courtrooms persuading juries and judges, combined with a busy practice of providing IP guidance and pursuing patents and trademarks. He knows how IP is put together and he knows how it’s threatened. He’s seen a lot of it, from both sides. Which explains Tim’s enthusiasm and confidence about NP’s Intellectual Property practice group – certainty in proven abilities, “walk-the-talk” experience, and eagerness to think outside the box.
Intellectual property is the product of the creative mind. Tim views his role with his Clients’ work to navigate that creativity to meaningful results – guiding his Clients from strategic counseling to registration, to commercialization, to licensing, and, if necessary, to litigation. His practice focuses exclusively on IP, but his work runs that gamut: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. His Clients include individuals, start-ups, established companies, and multi-national corporations.
Much of Tim's work is from referrals from other lawyers, in his view the highest compliment a lawyer can receive. Moreover, he is proud to be a "lawyers' lawyer," having represented his attorney peers and their law firms in IP disputes.
