Bob Yoshitomi advises clients about international trade and transportation regulation and related commercial matters. He is the principal legal advisor to several large and medium-sized companies, domestic and foreign, doing business throughout the United States.
What do you focus on?
I advise about business strategies, mergers, acquisitions and other reorganizations, government and customer relations, and regulatory compliance, and I have been doing so for over thirty years. Here are three examples of currently active areas:
- Antitrust compliance, including legally safe interactions with competitors in markets with decreasing participants and employing when available express and implied exemptions from the antitrust law
- Synchronizing commercial agreements with regulatory compliance, as the agreements are often filed with a supervising government agency, and even if not filed the agreements must satisfy regulatory standards.
- Legal audits to confirm the enterprise is in compliance.
