Rae Vasquez is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. She represents clients in a broad range of commercial, finance, and real estate transactions. Rae advises clients on a variety of commercial transactions, including real estate matters, corporate transactions, and construction lending, in connection with affordable housing transactions. She regularly drafts and negotiates sophisticated commercial agreements such as purchase agreements, lease agreements, development agreements, and loan agreements, as well as municipal bond transactions that include taxable and tax-exempt financings, and tax increment financings. Rae has represented lenders in construction financing and affordable housing tax credit projects, including in the private placement forward tax-exempt loan (Forward TEL) structure that Freddie Mac has developed. She has also represented national retailers in significant real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, planning, management, land use, and zoning. Additionally, Rae has experience representing 501(c)(3) organizations, including helping public colleges and universities address various infrastructure needs such as housing and parking. Having represented clients in the public and private sectors, Rae has deep insight into economic development public-private partnerships and has participated in a range economic development projects, with a particular focus on securing economic development incentives from various state and municipal agencies. Among other matters, she served as underwriters' counsel for the $294 million bond sale for the restoration of the Louisiana Superdome, which was awarded Deal of the Year in the Southeast Region by The Bond Buyer. Rae has lectured on a variety of topics in academic and professional venues. She is also deeply involved in a number of community-based and legal-profession associations. In addition to these commitments, Rae is involved in the firm's recruiting efforts and works closely with students at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Rae was born and raised in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, and is fluent in Spanish.
