Philippa Ellis has a defense litigation background in the fields of insurance, product liability, corporate and business owners liability, and commercial disputes. Her practice also includes handling all aspects of contract law and providing general counsel for corporations and business owners. She graduated magna cum laude from Langston University in 1985 with a B.S. degree. Ms. Ellis obtained her J.D. degree in 1988 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she earned an American Jurisprudence Award and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.
She has handled matters in all courts including federal, state courts and before administrative agencies, at the trial and appellate levels. She is a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, National Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, Litigation Counsel of America, and the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance. Ms. Ellis has been recognized as one of Georgia's Super Lawyers, 2006-2013, and a Georgia Super Lawyer-Corporate Counsel Edition, 2007 and 2009. She has been included in the 2012 and 2013 editions of The Best Lawyers in America®, receiving recognition in the area of Product Liability Litigation - Defendants.
