Peter has practised in finance law for 28 years and has acted for almost all of the institutional financiers doing business in Australia.
Peter was brought up in a family business environment and learned from a young age the imperatives behind customer service and delivery. He likes his work and that reflects in his approach. Being enthusiastic, responsive and empathetic are the cornerstones of his professional life. He takes his work and responsibility to clients seriously, not himself.
A survey of Australian corporate general counsel, published in The Australian in September 2010, identified 109 lawyers as Australia’s best. Peter was one of those named.
Peter is the relationship partner for many finance clients, particularly the major banks. It is a role that he thoroughly enjoys and one to which he commits a great deal of time.
He has a fundamental belief that the financier relationship is long-term, and much more important than one-off transactional style legal work. He is renowned for listening to clients and responding to their requirements, as opposed to presuming to know what clients want.
In his 25 years of doing finance work, there is little that he has not applied himself to and experienced. His counsel is sought not just for legal purposes, but on a trusted adviser basis.
