Retired from law firm practice on June 30, 2016 after 50+ years as a commercial and employment law trial lawyer with Chicago law firms Pope Ballard (29 years, until it dissolved in January 1994), D'Ancona & Pflaum (9 years, until it merged with Seyfarth Shaw in October 2003), and Seyfarth Shaw (13 years). Between law school and law firm practice, clerked for Hon. Hubert L. Will, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, 1962-1964. for 57 years to Susan Seder Freehling who owned and operated a cookware store
in Chicago for 42 years before closing it and retiring on December 31, 2017. We have two adult children and four grandchildren.
