Nancy P. Marx is a Principal in Cummings & Lockwood's Private Clients Group and is based in the Stamford office. Nancy practiced for eight years in general estate planning and estate and trust administration before joining Cummings & Lockwood in 1993 to focus on charitable giving law and charitable organizations.
She helps individuals organize new charities and obtain 501(c)(3) recognition for their new entities, and advises individuals and the charities they manage with respect to maintaining the charity's tax-exempt status and classification and understanding and complying with the laws governing the charity's funding, investment, administration, grant making and other charitable activities.
She assists individuals in making planned charitable gifts, including the establishment and funding of charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts, and assists individuals and charities in documenting the terms of restricted gifts, grants and pledges.
It is Nancy's great pleasure to work with individuals and charities in defining, planning and realizing their charitable goals.
