Montserrat is a tax partner in KPMG Spain. She is currently leader of KPMG transfer pricing services for Europe and the EMA region and also Managing Partner KPMG Abogados Cataluña, Baleares and Andorra.
She forms part of the list of independent experts authorised to be a member of the European Arbitration Convention’s advisory commission appointed by Spain and she has recently been appointed arbitrator by the German and US authorities to resolve possible conflicts arising from their respective double taxation treaty.
Before joining KPMG, Montserrat was a senior member of the International Department within the Internal Revenue Service in Spain ( Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria) where she was responsible for providing technical advice and support to tax inspectors on international issues and was heavily involved in the APA program. At that time, she was also Vice-chair of the European Transfer Pricing Forum and Delegate of WP6 of the Commitee of Fisal Affairs of the OECD.
Now, as EMA leader, she works closely with global transfer pricing and international tax teams being involved in a variety of international tax projects for global clients. In particular she focus in dispute resolution projects, audit defense and APA. She closely follows and actively participates in EU and OECD projects on transfer pricing and other international issues.
She is also a frequent speaker at international tax conferences and has participated in a number of publications on transfer pricing and tax treaties.
