Matthew Treuting has practiced at Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer since 2006. He primarily practices in the areas of taxation, business law and estate planning. He is recognized by Louisiana Super Lawyers for his work in tax law, and in 2015, New Orleans Magazine recognized him as one of their “Top Lawyers of New Orleans” for his work in Mergers & Acquisitions Law and Tax Law.
Matthew is a Certified Internal Auditor, a board certified tax law specialist and estate planning & administration specialist, as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, and a member of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. He served on the 2009-2010 Meritas Leadership Institute Class and currently serves as the firm’s liaison for the Meritas Young Lawyer Liaison Program. Matthew was the 2014 President of the Young Leadership Council (YLC), which is a non-profit, non-partisan civic organization created to develop leadership through community projects, and has served on the Board of Directors since 2009.
Matthew is a native New Orleanian and graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School. Matthew attended Louisiana State University where he received a B.A. in Accounting, with a concentration in internal auditing. Upon graduating in 2003, he attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he graduated in 2006 with a Juris Doctor.
