Mark is MinterEllison's Markets Leader, responsible for leading the firm's industry strategy and client programs. He is also one of Australia's most recognised and respected tax lawyers – an expert in tax advisory and related structuring matters, focusing heavily on cross-border transactions. His broad experience extends to advising a range of Australian and international clients and government entities on taxation and finance issues.
His specialist knowledge encompasses corporate income taxation, restructuring, energy and infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions, tax financing, hybrid and stapled structures, and risk management.
Mark has developed close working relationships with many international organisations across key industry sectors and advises them on investment opportunities and financing in Australia and South East Asia. Some of his long-standing clients include Hertz, Singapore Power, CLP/TRUenergy, Plenary, 7-Eleven, and Australian Unity.
Mark is also the Chairman of SAFETRAC, an online legal compliance and risk management training business wholly owned by MinterEllison.
Chambers Global has ranked Mark a leading individual for more than 10 years and he is also recognised as a leading lawyer in major legal directories and publications including Asia Pacific Legal 500, Best Lawyers, the Legal Media Group Guide to the World's Leading Tax Advisers and the International Tax Review.
