Manton Grier is a trial lawyer. For more than three decades, he has been successfully trying complex business and commercial cases throughout the region.
He is well respected by his peers in litigation: Mr. Grier is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is included in 2016 South Carolina Super Lawyers for Business Litigation.
A South Carolina native, Mr. Grier represents plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of litigation, including jury and bench trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals. He also has extensive experience representing clients in investigations and civil proceedings.
Business litigation: In addition to a wide scope of breach of contract cases and business-related tort actions, he has handled dealer/distributor termination cases in the beer, wine, electronics and appliance industries.
Intellectual property disputes: Mr. Grier represents clients in complex patent actions, many of which involve multiple patents and jurisdictional issues. Over the past eight years, he has served as counsel for more than 12 patent litigation cases.
Antitrust and competition law: He has defended numerous cases involving allegations of price fixing, price discrimination, unfair trade practices and unlawful restraints of trade.
Mr. Grier is frequently asked to speak to groups of executives of major corporations on antitrust compliance issues.
