Lesley DeRamus helps financial institutions navigate and manage compliance with federal and state consumer protection regulations. Lesley has over 25 years of experience working with financial services clients such as federal and state banks, mortgage servicers, title companies and finance companies on regulatory issues. She frequently helps clients with questions regarding the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and other CFPB requirements in home mortgage transactions.
Lesley also advises clients in connection with a variety of other laws such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Lending and Servicing, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Truth in Savings Act (TISA), and privacy laws. In addition, she has significant experience with regulatory complaints and disputes and defense of enforcement actions.
