Alan Parry has significant experience handling all types of civil disputes, whether in state court, federal court or arbitration. Alan began his career handling complex commercial litigation matters for large corporate clients, first at a firm with offices around the world, and then as a partner at one of the largest law firms in North Carolina.
Alan continues to focus his practice on commercial litigation, representing individuals and businesses in a wide variety of civil disputes. Alan is also certified by the NC Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct Superior Court mediations, as well as mediations of estate and guardianship cases. As a mediator, he offers a balanced perspective based in his years of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil disputes.
Alan has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Commercial Litigation and Litigation-Insurance) and Business North Carolina Magazine’s “Legal Elite.” He has also been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine and given an A-V rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Alan is frequently asked to author articles and speak to legal and business groups regarding litigation, dispute resolution and insurance coverage issues.
Alan firmly believes in the importance of giving back to the community. He is a member of the NC Equal Access to Justice Commission, a former member of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of North Carolina and a former co-chair of Legal Aid’s “Access to Justice” fundraising campaign in the Triangle. Alan also regularly volunteers to provide pro bono legal services, including the “Lawyer on the Line” program. Alan is actively involved in the Bar, including the North Carolina Bar Association (Litigation Section Council; Insurance Law Section; Dispute Resolution Section) and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
