Joseph J. Fleischman, a Member of the firm, has substantial experience handling complex commercial litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels. He has tried securities, antitrust, contract, corporate control cases, and a variety of intellectual property, patent, and unfair competition cases.
In the area of securities, he has represented publicly-held companies, officers and directors, and broker-dealers in connection with 10b-5 actions, proxy fights, shareholder derivative suits, and tender offers. Joe has litigated various cases involving complex contract issues and partnership disputes. In the area of antitrust, he has defended clients against actions to prevent mergers and acquisitions and has represented clients in treble damage actions. He also advises clients about antitrust implications of business strategies with regard to pricing, distribution, and any other applicable factors.
Prior to joining the firm, Joe was a partner at the law firm Hannoch Weisman, where he was one of the senior litigators in the areas of securities, contract, antitrust, franchise, and intellectual property law.
He is a frequent contributor to legal journals and is the author of a number of articles on topics such as securities regulation, federal procedural issues, and legal malpractice.
