Jonathan A. Peckham’s practice focuses on representation of local, regional and national clients, both entrepreneurial and institutional, in purchase, sale, financing, development, management, operation, brokerage and investment in commercial real estate of all product types. These include: multi-family; office; retail; industrial; medical facilities and medical office buildings; hotel/hospitality; mixed-use urban; and specialty properties (including assets such as marinas, golf resorts, etc.). He also represents (i) developers of public-private projects, including negotiation of ground leases, and tax abatement and incentive agreements, etc., and (ii) land developers & investors, including subdivision developers of master-planned residential communities. Mr. Peckham is highly experienced with all forms of commercial leasing (including complex build-to-suit), purchase and sale transactions, and investment transactions from both sides. Mr. Peckham also has experience in private real estate lending transactions, mortgage purchase transactions, construction contracts, entity formation/structuring, commercial foreclosure, and negotiated dispute resolution.
Mr. Peckham is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP®) by the United States Green Building Council and USGBCI®. The LEED rating system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. Mr. Peckham is one of a select number of LEEP AP® certified lawyers in the nation. As a LEED AP® certified professional, Mr. Peckham can advise companies on regulatory requirements and incentives that pertain to green building, and he can assist developers in evaluating and navigating the LEED certification process for green construction.
Mr. Peckham graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1983 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1980. He is also board certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
