John McKenna QC has been in practice at the commercial bar in Queensland for over 25 years, including over 14 years within the ranks of senior counsel. He is a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
After undertaking his initial legal studies at the University of Queensland, Mr McKenna was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship for Queensland in 1984. He then graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Laws degree (with First Class Honours) from the University of Oxford (Magdalen College).
Since commencing practice, he has been consulted for advice and conducted litigation in a wide range of commercial fields, including banking, insurance, mining, gas, rail, ports, electricity, telecommunications, water resources, forestry, sugar, pastoral, property and corporate matters.
Mr McKenna QC has a particular interest in appellate and advisory matters. He also conducts mediations and expert determinations.
