Jerry Meyers is the founding and managing partner of the law firm of Meyers Evans Lupetin & Unatin. His practice focuses exclusively on medical malpractice cases, an area to which he’s devoted his entire career as an attorney. Meyers was the first trial lawyer in Pittsburgh to concentrate exclusively on medical malpractice law.
A native of Pennsylvania, Jerry Meyers was born in McKeesport and grew up in Duquesne. He served the US Navy and then the Marines as a hospital corpsman, where he received his first medical training and hospital experience. He later worked as a respiratory therapist in teaching hospitals while attending college and law school. Meyers received his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Miami.Meyers has received the Martindale Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent Attorney – the highest rating possible for an attorney based on both ethical standards and legal ability.Jerry Meyers is a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, where he’s served on the Board of Governors (1987-1991), (2001 to present); The Medical Malpractice Committee, and as Western Chapter President (1990). He is a member of the Leaders Forum of the American Association for Justice and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County (by invitation to trial lawyers of demonstrated competence), and has been recognized in Pennsylvania “Super Lawyers”. Meyers has consistently received an AV rating (the highest mark for ability and professionalism) from his peers in the annual Martindale Hubbell Directory of American Lawyers. He has been a visiting lecturer at various medical schools and teaching hospitals. He is regularly called upon to teach at continuing legal education seminars on various aspects of medical malpractice.
