Real Estate: representation of public and private developers, contractors and lenders in creating and working out real estate projects throughout New England, significant experience in development and financing phased mixed-use and urban projects.
· Representation of Massachusetts Port Authority in development of 600 room Hilton Hotel at Logan Airport and in numerous development projects on South Boston Waterfront, including:
· Phased, mixed use 2.5 million square foot development of 423 room hotel, two office buildings and shared 2,300 space underground parking garage on Seaport Boulevard.
· 470,000 square foot Manulife headquarters office building on Congress Street.
· 550 unit Seaport Apartments project located on D Street and adjacent 455 room Marriott Renaissance Hotel, including shared 520 space underground parking garage.
· Rehabilitation of historic New England Fish Exchange Building, which for more than 80 years had been oldest daily fish auction on East Coast, for use as state-of-the-art Conference Center.
· Intermodal cargo facility located in Boston Marine Industrial Park.
· Development of 1.7 million square foot Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and adjacent privately constructed and financed 790 room Westin Convention Center Hotel.
· Redevelopment of 160 acre Boston Army Base/Marine Industrial Park in South Boston, H.P. Hood plant in Charlestown, Nimrod Press facility in Fenway and China Trade Building in Chinatown.
· Outside real estate counsel to City of Somerville, including rezoning and mixed use development of 150 acre Assembly Square District.
· Representation of private developer of 20 acre site owned by MBTA located adjacent to Riverside Station in Newton, Massachusetts, which involved negotiating long term ground lease and on-going representation to secure public financing for structured parking and improved access to Route 128.
· Restoration, renovation and expansion (including addition of three stories) of 1891 residence building into 81 room hotel located in Boston’s historic Back Bay.
· Acquisition and complete renovation of deteriorated Holiday Inn into 191 room boutique brand Hotel Indigo in Newton, Massachusetts.
· Outside real estate counsel to Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority in joint transit oriented development of stations associated with Authority’s new $2.3 billion rail mass-transit system, known as Tren Urbano.
· Representation of private owner and developer of 50 acre multi-family residential site located on border between West Roxbury and South Brookline.
· Representation of private developer of 40 acre former rail yard located on border between Hyde Park and Dedham, including obtaining approval of subdivision plan from Dedham Planning Board.
· Representation of independent power producer in development of 80 megawatt alternate energy power projects in Utah and Pennsylvania.
· Completion of first ever I-Cubed public infrastructure financing in connection with Assembly Square project in Somerville and second ever in connection with Fan Pier project in South Boston.
· Representation of Quincy City Council in connection with land disposition and proposed redevelopment of downtown Quincy.

Professional and Community Involvement
Mr. Shea is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. He has served as chair of the Economic Development Committee of NAIOP and as a member of the Town of Brookline Economic Development Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Future Economies Commission, a group of business leaders formed by the Mayor of Somerville to identify short and long term business opportunities for the city. Mr. Shea has drafted general and special legislation to facilitate the financing of public infrastructure necessary for the success of economic development projects, including Chapter 40Q of the General Laws entitled “District Improvement Financing” and has received NAIOP’s Public Affairs Award three times for his work on legislative and land use matters.
