Greg represents industrial and trade association clients in environmental law and policy matters, including related civil litigation and enforcement issues in state and federal courts. Clients turn to Greg to handle the range of issues related to hazardous waste compliance and policy at the federal and state levels. His more than 35 years of experience include work for retail chains, including pharmacies, on hazardous waste issues. Trade association and industrial clients include Claxton Poultry Farms; CVS Health; Delhaize; Discount Tire; East Lake Golf Club; George C. Woodruff Co.; Georgia Agribusiness Council; Georgia Association of Manufacturers; Georgia Poultry Federation; Georgia Power Co.; Kumho Tire Georgia; Leslie’s Pool Supplies; MarJac Poultry; Mount Vernon Mills; Pilgrim’s Pride and JBS USA; Republic Waste; Rooms-to-Go; Safeway Inc.; Sanderson Farms Inc.; TenCate Inc.; the PGA Tour; Tractor Supply Co.; U.S. Poultry and Egg Association; and Wayne Farms LLC.

Greg understands his clients’ perspectives and concerns. He served as national environmental counsel for a Fortune Top 10 company during extensive negotiations in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and New Jersey.

Greg’s representations have involved all major environmental statutes in the United States. His early experience as both a state assistant attorney general and general counsel to Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources enriches his understanding of the objectives of both the regulator and the regulated. It has also helped Greg develop consensus for environmental statutes and administrative rules related to hazardous waste and water quality. His litigation experience has included defending agricultural waste management practices, such as land application systems.

Local governments have turned to Greg for counsel on water supply issues, including multidistrict litigation known as the Tri-State Water Wars, a highly complex, decades-long battle between Georgia, Alabama and Florida over water allocation. Greg also helps his business clients address water issues arising in transactions, such as those related to international trade and sustainability.

Greg is a frequent speaker on hazardous waste and other environmental issues. He has spoken at numerous CLEs, seminars and other programs both nationally (such as those produced by the Retail Industry Leaders Association) and in Georgia (Georgia Environmental Conference, Georgia Association of Manufacturers).
