Liz is a patent attorney whose practice includes preparing, filing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the electrical arts including telecommunications, semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, power devices, power device fabrication, circuit breakers, circuit breaker fabrication, LEDs, medical devices, HVAC systems, optical coherence tomography (OCT), microscope systems and design, “smart grid” related technology and related devices, imaging and software. Liz also counsels clients on matters related to intellectual property (IP) including trademarks and assists with management of clients’ patent portfolios, including due diligence, non-disclosure agreements and litigation support. Liz works with all types of clients, from clients just starting out in the start up arena to clients leading the world in their area of expertise.
Before joining the firm, Liz was a shareholder at a patent boutique in Raleigh, NC where she worked for over sixteen years. In addition to her work as a patent attorney, Liz was heavily involved in various firm management functions. Her involvement included being a member of the patent prosecution procedures committee, social functions coordinator, summer program coordinator, hiring committee, hiring partner (2010-2016) and being a member of the management committee (2016).
