My practice primarily consists of general civil litigation, including personal injury, premises liability, products liability, and administrative law. I routinely prepare and try lawsuits in the East Tennessee area and also handle matters in other parts of the State. In addition to trial work, I am general counsel for the Knox County Emergency Communications District, the agency that receives 911 calls and dispatches emergency services and law enforcement for the City of Knoxville and Knox County. I serve as a hearing officer for the City of Knoxville Civil Service Merit Board, hearing and rendering decisions regarding disputed employee terminations and disciplinary actions.
I have practiced law with Frantz, McConnell & Seymour, LLP since 1985, having previously practiced for three years after law school in Madison, Indiana. I have served several years as managing partner at Frantz, McConnell & Seymour, LLP.
I am a Rule 31 listed general civil mediator. In addition, I am a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Knoxville Bar Association, the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court and Defense Research Institute.
I am an avid Cincinnati Reds fan who also cheers for Tennessee football and Indiana basketball – both my alma maters. I also enjoy spending time with my family and traveling, as well as giving back to the community through my church and dedicating time to the United Way fund drive.
