Donald Carr, O. Ont., Q.C., J.D., L.H.D., Associate Counsel, has been in practice since 1951, during which time he has specialized in such disparate areas of the law as litigation, commercial leasing, public and private corporate law, business, charities, and for the past many years, as adviser and counsel on estate planning and estate administration.
In 2006, Donald was appointed to the Order of Ontario which recognizes the highest level of individual excellence and achievement in any field. He was named to the Order for serving as counsel and adviser to a wide range of charities and not-for-profit organizations in the province, as well as for his pro bono legal work.
Donald concentrates his practice on estate planning, estate and trusts administration, and charities law. He acts for individuals and charities. He also advises on succession to family businesses and a wide range of corporate, commercial, and general business matters.
Formerly, Donald was a founder and senior partner of Goodman and Carr LLP, and for the first 25 years of that firm was its Chair.
Donald has played significant roles in a multitude of community organizations, both locally and across Canada, and has served on the boards of directors of several well-known commercial ventures.
