David served as Henderson County Attorney from 1971 through 1977. In 1980 he was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives and served until 1984. He was Speaker Pro Tempore in 1982. In addition, David has represented several clients as a lobbyist in the Kentucky General Assembly since 1986. One of the state's leading attorneys in mineral law, he recently led a real estate due diligence team for the purchaser in what has been described in the mineral industry as the largest mineral swap in the history of the United States. David has been committed to the cause of education, championing efforts to improve education in Henderson County by serving as a former member of the Henderson County Board of Education and teaching at Henderson County Community College.
