Catherine Lovrics is a partner with Bereskin & Parr LLP. She leads the firm’s Copyright & Digital Media practice group, and co-leads the Privacy, Cybersecurity & Data Protection practice group. Catherine’s practice focuses on copyright, trademarks, personality and publicity rights, as well as marketing and advertising law, consumer protection and privacy law. She advises on legal issues related to the Internet and digital media, including social media and apps.
Catherine is Chair of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s (IPIC) Copyright Policy Committee. She is also a member of IPIC’s Internet Committee. She is on the Board of Artists and Lawyers for the Advancement of Creativity (ALAC) and Ontario’s Artists’ Legal Advice Services (ALAS). Catherine is also a Trustee if the Copyright Society of the USA (CSUSA). She was formerly on the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s (OBA) Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law, Entertainment, Media and Communications Law and Privacy Law sections.
