With 12+ years of experience in private practice, Alexey mainly specialises in resolving commercial disputes, complex insolvency cases, debt recovery, and related litigation. He has recently advised the construction company StroyGazConsulting on bankruptcy proceedings and the restructuring of the group's indebtedness, which exceeds $415 m+ (2015 – present), and Baledge, as an unsecured lender, on the recovery of a $166-m debt and assets from CentrObuv, which prior to insolvency was Russia’s largest shoe retailer (2016 – present).
Alexey also has vast experience with competition law matters, in particular, disputes with Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). For example, he successfully represented a regional road construction company, Bashkirdorstroy, in a precedent-setting dispute with the FAS, challenging its order to cancel the results of a public bidding for a $333-m+ PPP project for the construction of a toll road (2017).
The 3rd area of Alexey’s expertise is real estate investments. He has frequently provided legal support to projects connected with infrastructure and commercial property development, including sea ports and roads, as well as sport, hotel, and leisure facilities. Recent work highlights include a $670-m development project for the construction and subsequent operation of a pipeline branch to a gas liquefaction terminal at a port near St. Petersburg (2015 – present) and a $470-m PPP project for the reconstruction of a large sport and concert arena in St. Petersburg (2018 – present).
Prior to joining Ivanyan and Partners in 2009, Alexey made his way from associate to director in a local law firm in St. Petersburg.
