Judge Fleischman is the principal of The Fleischman Law Firm, P.C., specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution. From 1985 to 1997, Judge Fleischman served on the Pima County Superior Court, and was assigned at various times to the criminal, civil, and domestic relations sections of the bench. In 1991, his interest in mediation and ADR caused him to concentrate full-time on the settlement of lawsuits. In 1995, he opened the Arizona Superior Court’s first Center for Dispute Resolution.
He has settled more than 7,000 civil lawsuits, encompassing every type of claim. Judge Fleischman is the author of numerous articles on ADR, and was the co-originator and director of the Arizona Supreme Court’s Risk Management ADR Project, which stayed the litigation in cases involving taxpayer-supported entities and settled those cases in an attempt to save taxpayer costs. In a review of the project’s first 100 cases, the Court noted that more than $5.5 million in taxpayer costs were saved by early intervention and settlement.
He is named in the ADR Section of Best Lawyers in America every year since 2005 and was one of 500 judges and retired judges listed as best in the United States in the Winter 2006 issue of Lawdragon magazine, both of which are peer-chosen honors.
