Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi is of one of the oldest law firms in the United States with an exclusive practice in immigration law. The original firm, Baumann and DeSeve, was established in 1980 by Peter Baumann and Karren DeSeve, with the addition of Jon Landau in 1985, and became Baumann, Landau & Simon in 2010, with the addition of Nicole Simon. Peter Baumann and Karren DeSeve are now retired from the practice of law but we continue to seek to follow their outstanding example in our immigration practice of a singular devotion to reaching the best possible outcome for each of our clients.

Throughout our long history, we have been recognized as one of the leading firms in the field. Our long-standing reputation has been built through the successful representation of thousands of clients in all aspects of immigration proceedings. Our recent strategic partnership with nationally renowned immigration law practitioners Wendy Castor Hess and Yuah Jessica Choi, formerly of Goldblum & Hess, has bolstered our ability to meet the immigration needs of both large and small businesses as well as private individuals.

Representation in the field of immigration law requires highly specialized knowledge and expertise. Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi dedicates its practice solely to this complex area of the law. This concentration allows us to provide representation that addresses all aspects of our clients’ immigration needs, from entry to the United States through U.S. citizenship. The attorneys at Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi value a commitment to providing quality and individualized representation to each client. Based on our extensive experience, we are able to assess our clients’ needs and recommend a comprehensive approach to obtaining their goals. We then dedicate ourselves to accomplishing our clients’ goals as quickly as possible.

Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi believes that it is important for our clients to understand the procedures which will be followed from the beginning of our representation. We also believe that it is important to keep our clients advised of the progress of their cases. Our clients are encouraged to call or email us to discuss their cases at any time.

Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi is a member of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms (“INBLF”), an organization of highly regarded boutique law firms, each of which has been qualified as outstanding in each firm’s respective specialty. Each member firm practices, and is preeminent, in only one or two specialized areas. The purpose of the INBLF is, among other things, to ensure that each firm’s clients will receive only the highest quality legal representation, should that client choose to retain any INBLF member, and to provide a strong referral network among high quality law firms. Landau, Hess, Simon & Choi is the only immigration law firm in the Philadelphia area that has been selected to join INBLF. For more information on the INBLF and its worldwide network of members, click here. In addition, we are listed in “The Best Law Firms of America,” published annually by U.S. News & World Report, and our lawyers have been recognized by Super Lawyers as well as Best Lawyers.

About Our Clients

Immigration issues are a top priority for foreign national employees. Having the appropriate visa and obtaining permanent residence as quickly as possible are critical factors in a foreign national employee’s life. Most professional foreign born employees are quite sophisticated in their knowledge of immigration related issues. Because immigration is so important to them, these employees need to have their cases handled by competent professionals who specialize in this complex area of the law. Proper legal representation in all aspects of their immigration cases ensures that employees and their families will be able to remain legally in the United States.

Our services include representation for companies hiring employees from abroad. We also assist in employment authorization for foreign employees who have graduated from U.S. universities or who are transferring from another U.S. employer. Our goal is to obtain the appropriate immigration status as quickly as possible. Our services are aimed at minimizing the amount of time spent by human resources staff and in-house counsel on immigration issues
