Our firm was founded by William R. (Bill) Garmer, a highly respected trial lawyer with 40 years of experience trying cases in Kentucky. Bill and our team of attorneys help injury victims, providing a high level of service to people whose lives have been altered by the actions of others.

Garmer & Prather was selected by the Attorney General to represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky in a consumer protection action against pharmaceutical giant Merck for false and deceptive practices in its sales and marketing of Vioxx in Kentucky. The case settled for $25 million. The Attorney General earmarked the settlement proceeds for Kentucky's efforts to battle heroin addiction through rehabilitation.

Bill Garmer is currently President Elect of the Kentucky Bar Association. In 2014 he was inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Law Hall of Fame. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1987 and has been named one of the Top 50 lawyers in Kentucky by Super Lawyers in 2008 and every year since 2010 through 2017. Bill has also been awarded the Kentucky Justice Association Trial Lawyer of the Year award.
