Bill Keating’s expertise is plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death litigation in Colorado and the West. His focus is complex, catastrophic injury matters including products liability, fire and explosions, trucking and auto collisions, automotive defects, construction accidents, and insurance bad faith. In addition to in-depth investigations and diligent commitment to clients in the midst of sudden catastrophe, Bill leads the firm’s efforts to promote change for safer products and workplaces.
A co-founder of the firm, Bill has been listed in the Best Lawyers of America for more than 20 years. Additionally, Bill has been selected as Best Lawyer’s Denver “Lawyer of the Year” in Personal Injury Litigation – 2009, Product Liability Litigation – 2010 and Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs in 2013.
His strong work ethic and a love of the law and working with people has resulted in many honors including the invitations to the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, whose membership is limited to 500 Fellows in the United States and the American College of Trial Lawyers – representing less than the top one percent of lawyers in Colorado, and the U.S.
Bill has also been elected to membership in the International Society of Barristers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Academy of Catastrophic Injury Attorneys. He was selected by Colorado attorneys for inclusion in Colorado Super Lawyers list since its inception in 2007. Bill has been included among the Top 10 lawyers in Colorado Super Lawyers since 2008, and was featured in a cover article titled The Gentle Giant - Bill Keating represents injured clients with uncommon compassion.
In 2012, Bill received the Thompson G. Marsh Award from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. The Thompson G. Marsh Award is presented to a DU Law graduate in recognition of outstanding accomplishment throughout the recipient’s career. It is conferred only occasionally following discussions and agreement between the Sturm College of Law Alumni Council, the DU Law Stars nominating committee and the dean of the college of law. The award has only been given a handful of times in the DU’s history.
He lectures locally and nationally on litigation matters and is past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
