Bill has extensive legal experience in oil and gas law, commercial litigation, general business and corporation law, and all aspects of real estate. Bill represents landowners, oil and gas companies, two Ohio public colleges, direct marketing companies, and other businesses and industries, in both general corporate and commercial litigation (federal and state court) matters. He had represented for 10 years a NYSE oil and gas corporation who recently sold its Ohio assets. He has also represented Ohio producers having 50 to 1600 wells for over 25 years.
U.S.A. v. Lorrantfy Care Center, et. al., — The first time that the U.S. Justice Dept. sued a nursing home and its entire Board for violation of fair housing act for racial discrimination due to Slavic/Hungarian ownership by American Hungarian Church. The government lost even though it sent in 10 Justice Dept. testers who were wired.
Levi and Mary Yoder v. Stocker & Sitler and Columbia Natural Resources — First trial in Holmes County where Old Order Amish Rite individuals actually had a jury trial. The Yoders sued since Defendants wrongly filed lease/unitized acreage to tie up their land and all of their neighbors. The Defendants had hit the largest well at the time. The court/jury awarded the Yoders the right to drill their own well and close to $1 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Another producer had top leased the property and assisted the Yoders. Their well was a barn burner.
Great Lakes Energy Co. v. Pennzoil/Quaker State — Represented Great Lakes (nka Range Resources) for breach of oil purchase agreement. Awarded approximately $2 million as a result of AAA arbitration. Vinson and Elkins defended Pennzoil.
