W. Andrew "Andy" McLauchlin

W. Andrew McLauchlin is the principal of McLauchlin & Associates, which is recognized as one of Canada’s leading construction law boutiques. Andy has practiced exclusively in the area of construction law since his call to the Bar in 1975. He has practiced trial and appellate advocacy at all levels of court. Andy is experienced in all forms of alternate dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a former instructor at the Bar Admission Course and former lecturer at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Engineering. Andy is a member of the teaching faculty of the Construction Education Council (Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada) and the University of Waterloo. He is a frequent speaker at professional and industry organizations and author of numerous publications. Andy is a member of The Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, Defence Research Institute and the Toronto Construction Association. He is recognized in the area of Construction Law in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory as most frequently recommended, The Lexpert/ALM Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada, International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers and maintains the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent. He is certified by The Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Construction Law, and he is an inaugural Fellow and Governor and Past President of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. Andy is the recipient of the Ontario Bar Association 2017 Award of Excellence in Construction and Infrastructure Law.
