Tom is an experienced trial lawyer and appellate advocate with a concentration in business litigation. He has tried a wide range of business and complex commercial cases and argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts across the country. Recent cases include disputes involving merger and acquisition transactions, intellectual property, securities, finance, data breach and cyber security, oppression of minority shareholders, franchise, contract, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secrets, and conflict with government entities. Industries supported include health care, higher education, bioscience.
For the past 20 years, Tom as served on the adjunct faculty at Harvard Law School as a visiting teacher of Trial Advocacy in the winter academic term.
Professional recognition includes membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates, Senior Fellow of the American College of Barristers, and the Advisory Board of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. Tom is a visiting teacher of trial advocacy at Harvard Law School.
Tom is active in his community where he has served on numerous charitable boards and foundations and worked as a coach in youth sports. He is a founding board member of the Portland Conservatory of Music, past-President of the New England Suzuki Institutue, and has served on the board of the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
