Steve Lubczuk practices civil advocacy in the litigation group and is a partner in the Waterloo office of Miller Thomson. Before joining the firm in 2008, Steve practiced law in Kitchener for 25 years in the firm Voisin, Lubczuk LLP. He has extensive experience in advocacy including family law and divorce, personal injury claims, commercial litigation, mediation, arbitration and negotiation. He also practices collaborative family law.
He is a past Chairperson of the Canada Pension Plan review Tribunal, and has represented the federal government, as agent, before tribunals, in prosecutions and in civil proceedings.
He has conducted appeals in the Ontario Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Appeal and Divisional Court, trials in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (and predecessor courts) the Ontario Court of Justice (and predecessor courts), Small Claims Court and Provincial Offences Court. He is trained in mediation and has presided as both mediator and arbitrator in family law cases and represented clients in mediations and before boards and tribunals.
Steve was recently named to the 2014 and 2015 editions of Best Lawyers in Canada for Family Law.
Steve was born, raised and educated in Kitchener. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University. Since his call to the Bar in 1982, he has contributed countless volunteer hours to the Region of Waterloo through various boards, service clubs, minor sports associations and agencies and continues to do so.
