Case History

Dynacorp Ltd v. Aramtel Ltd — This matter involved allegations of fraud, misrepresentation and breach of contract by both parties involving the deployment of a wireless local loop telecommunications network in Central and Northern Iraq after the US invasion of that country estimated to generate profits of over One Billion Dollars.
Intelecom Inc. v. TeleBright Corp et al — We represented the defendant in this matter which involved a dispute regarding certain telecommunications marketing and billing software where plaintiff asserted over twenty million dollars in damages.  The plaintiff asserted that our client had breached certain provisions of a contract between the parties, infringed its copyrights in the software, and misappropriated certain trade secrets related to the software.  A judgment against our client would have spelled the demise of the company.  We successfully represented our client before a panel of three highly experienced software arbitrators in a two week trial.  The panel prepared a nearly thirty page opinion completely exonerating our client and awarding our client over One Million Dollars in costs and fees.
Alloc, Inc. et al. v. Akzenta Paneele Profile + GMBH et al — This plaintiffs, manufacturers and distributors of glueless laminate flooring products, brought suit against certain competitors alleging infringement of three US patents.  The US laminate flooring business is estimated at over One Billion Dollars per year; with the glueless market representing as much as Seventy Five percent of overall sales.  We represented one of the defendants in the one week trial before the US International Trade Commission.  We successfully argued that our clients products did not infringe the asserted patents.

Client Comments

"In addition to qualities found in all top-notch lawyers, such as attention to detail and prompt response time, Steve exhibits a unique combination of skills that enable clients to make practical decisions in a fast-paced business environment. Steve applies his expertise in the field of litigation to the process of performing a thorough, yet concise, evaluation of risk. Without exception, Steve's advice and counsel have served as a catalyst in the negotiation of contractual provisions that protect my company's interests and allow us to get deals done!"

"Steven Tiller is extremely knowledgeable, effectively works with diverse groups of people with differing opinions, and very practical. He is very ethical. He is an outstanding attorney."

"I have been more than pleased with the high level of service that I have received from Steven Tiller. He has consistently given me timely, strategic, and insightful responses that have served the best interests of my company. His knowledge of recent changes in Patent Law prevented me from considering a lawsuit that I would have lost. He has also enlisted another WTP patent expert in some of our work - a move which I appreciated - giving my company a legal "team" approach, and adding to the depth of expertise watching over my IP interests. I have been extremely satisfied with Mr. Tiller's highly personalized "Five Star" customer service. In my three plus years of having him handling my business, I would be very confident going into litigation with him as my representative, conversely (and meant as a compliment), I would not ever want to go up against Mr. Tiller in a court of law. He is courteous, professional, capable, knowledgeable, responsive, strategic, efficient, proactive, and as stated earlier, "Five Star"!!"

"We have many lawyers in different states representing us. Our first choice is always Steve."

-David Cleary

"Steve Tiller is a specially gifted lawyer. His gifts include a supple mind capable of storing and recalling an amazing depth of small and large details, and the ability to develop a nuanced strategy for the litigation from understanding those details. All this is hard work, and he never ever complains about it. He has a charming, easy-talking style in relating to his team, experts, witnesses, and best of all, the clients; however, the lion strikes lightening quick in litigation. I still remember his brilliant cross examination of a witness that was actually quite a theater; for its accuracy, eloquence, and airtight, relentless sequence of crucial facts that made our case. His best gift, I found, is his intellectual honesty about the merits of the facts, the case itself, and what would be fair resolution options for the dispute. If he has the time, you REALLY want Steve on your side! "

-Chet Thaker

"I first met Steve Tiller in 2000 when I was one of a group of scientists struggling to form a biotech company. He took us on as his "charity case" because he believed that our science was thoughtful, important, and would, one day, make a difference. He has continued as an advisor and our attorney. We were finally able to pay him in 2006!"

"Steve is a true professional. He is responsive to all requests and always goes the extra mile to explain the issues. He also provides various perspectives to his recommendations. Above all, he provides prompt information and his positive attitude and constant smile are refreshing. "
