Simon Margolis is currently the Managing
Partner of Bull Housser. In addition to his role in managing the firm's overall
practice and day-to-day operations, Simon leads the strategic development of
the firm and its client service areas.
Simon is also a senior litigator who, when
not managing the firm, spends the rest of his time providing practical and
effective advice to clients in a variety of matters. He counsels clients on
alternate dispute resolution methods and represents them before all levels of
court. He also regularly acts as counsel to numerous clients in the defence of
insured matters involving product, property, professional and casualty
liability. He also advises on all aspects of the law relating to insurance,
policy interpretation and assessment of claims.
He has recently acted for a national
telecommunications company in a significant contractual dispute and is
currently acting in a variety of commercial disputes and in several matters
involving First Nations. He is regularly appointed as a mediator and
has recently mediated a number of construction, real estate and insurance
Simon obtained his undergraduate degree at
Dartmouth College in 1979 before attending and graduating from law school at
the University of British Columbia in 1982. He articled at Bull Housser and has
continued to practice at the firm his entire career.
