About Serap Zuvin
Serap Zuvin is the founding partner of Serap Zuvin Law Offices. Before opening her office in early 2001, she has previously worked in one of the top law firms White & Case, LLP, Turkey as its International Legal Counsel.
Ms. Zuvin is widely recognized in the profession for her expertise in aviation law. Through her representation of her clients, she has gained a strong reputation as an expert in the field of aviation law, especially aircraft and engine financing. She continues to act for the largest global players in the field. Ms. Zuvin has also extensively involved in various cross-border joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. She has represented numerous multinational companies in connection with their agency, licensing, distribution and technology transfer agreements.
Serap Zuvin provides assistance to lessors, lessees, financiers, aircraft or engine manufacturers in the fields of cross border aircraft finance and leasing, sale and lease backs, aircraft acquisitions, establishing mortgages and other security interests both in Turkey and at the International Registry as PUE. •Legislative Arrangements: Serap Zuvin played active role in the making process of several basic legislations in the process of Turkey’s implementation of Cape Town Convention. She has attended workshops in the Civil Aviation General Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication of the Republic of Turkey and provided legal suggestions which caused substantial legislation changes. Turkey was able to get enlisted among the OECD’s ASU list of countries based on her responses to the OECD’s questionnaire on the implementation of the Convention. She also leaded in the implementation phase of the Cape Town Convention into Turkish legislation on aviation.
•Adjunct Professor: Due to her expertise Ms. Zuvin has lectured on M&A to LLM and PhD students at Yeditepe University, and on legal drafting and foreign investment in Turkey at Bogazici University. Since 2013, Ms. Zuvin has been giving lectures to LLM students at Bilgi University on Commercial Aviation Law which is the first course opened in the Turkish universities on this topic. She enjoys lecturing as a professor in her spare times.
•Collaboration with the largest Entities in their Projects: Serap Zuvin and her team has committed World Bank’s surveys on the legislation regarding the enforcement and foreign investments in Turkey by providing the updated legal information and completing the whole questionnaire served annually by the World Bank.

In addition to being a member of the Istanbul Bar Association Ms. Zuvin is a member to various other international organizations and programs such as Legal Advisory Panel (LAP) member of Aviation Working Group (AWG), ISTAT, L2B, IAWA, AmCham, Independent Women Directors Project and KAGIDER. She is a member of International Bar Association (IBA) and she is a Treasury officer in the Aviation Committee of IBA.
Ms. Zuvin has acted as a board member of the Turkey at Chapter of Transparency International and currently is a board member of KAHUDEV, a foundation supporting the studies of women legal students and professionals.

Ms. Zuvin regularly participates as a judge to the International Air Law Moot Court as organized by Leiden University and the Sarin Foundation.
