Russell S. Kato practices in the areas of real estate and business law. He has counseled clients in commercial transactions as well as in resolutions of disputes.
- Real Estate: Advises clients in land acquisitions and sales, commercial leases, development, construction, and land use planning and permitting. Represents parties to construction, ground lease, and other real estate disputes.
- Business and Commercial: Represents buyers and sellers in acquisitions and sales of businesses (both assets and stock). Advises clients in starting and maintaining their businesses, in negotiations of contracts and in enforcement of agreements. Represents parties in commercial contract disputes.
- International Businesses: Represents foreign-based companies (including multi-national companies) doing business in the U.S.
- Infrastructure Projects: Represents clients involved in infrastructure and other government projects, including issues relating to the bidding and RFP process, procurement law, agency proceedings and land use planning and permitting.
Mr. Kato has had previous practice and experience with the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General and is knowledgeable about the legal and other issues involved with doing business with the State of Hawaii.
