Mr. Lieberman serves on the firm's Management Committee and is the former Chair of the firm's Corporate, Securities and Finance Department. He has extensive experience in a broad range of business law issues, including securities, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, finance and banking, employment, executive compensation, bankruptcy and corporate restructuring, litigation and legislation. His experience includes a wide variety of industries, including energy, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, services, biotechnology, communications and others. He was selected by Best Lawyer's in America as the Phoenix "Lawyer of the Year" in Corporate Governance.
He has served as in-house General Counsel and outside counsel to a variety of companies, ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Lieberman has counseled boards and senior management on issues pertinent to growing companies as well as those experiencing a crisis situations.
Mr. Lieberman represents companies in securities and other regulatory compliance, capital market transactions, contract negotiations, company policy and plan development, and ethical compliance. He was General Counsel to an international commercial finance company. He also supervised its internal audit, shareowner services, and corporate communications departments, chaired its ethics committee, and performed other business functions. He served as counsel to the company in its finance and treasury operations, negotiated debt agreements and offerings in excess of $7 billion. He was also responsible for compliance with the securities and employment laws, as well as, mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, lease negotiations and U.S. and international service marks.

$11 Billion Restructuring of The FINOVA Group Inc. — Principal in-house attorney to organize the bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring of FINOVA, including the restructuring of its debt, the US and foreign case administration, related litigation and corporate matters.
Myriad Merger and Acquisition transactions — Counsel to sellers and buyers in many M&A transactions ranging in size up to $11 billion.
Public and Private Finance Transactions — Counsel to public and private issuers of debt and equity in transactions ranging up to $1.5 billion, in the US and globally.
Treasury and Banking Matters — Counsel to clients in bank regulatory and treasury related matters, including bank acquisitions, regulatory licensing and compliance, SWAP transactions, cash management agreements, lending transactions, letters of credit and other matters.
Energy Law Transactions — Primary counsel for an electric utility in its $371 million acquisition of a 50% interest in a gas-powered electric generation station and assumption of operational control for the other participant.
Manufacturing M&A Transactions — Counsel for various manufacturers and circuit-board assembly companies in the aerospace, medical and technology fields.
