Rich is a shareholder with the law firm of Wilmer & Lee, P.A., and practices law in the areas of Labor and Employment Litigation, Trade Secret/Non-Competition Litigation, Government Contracts Law, and Business Litigation. He also serves as Wilmer & Lee's Managing Shareholder. Rich handles complex cases throughout Alabama and the Southeast for businesses and individuals.
Rich was formerly an attorney with the US Army Judge Advocate Generals' Corps, where he served in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Macedonia. Among other positions, while in the Army, Rich served as a criminal prosecutor, prosecuting cases on behalf of the Army, and as an operational law attorney.
Rich is the President of the Alabama State Bar (July 2014-July 2015). He previously served as President-Elect (July 2013-July 2014) and on the Board of Commissioners for the Alabama State Bar. He either is serving or has served on the boards of directors of several non-profit organizations, including the National Children's Advocacy Center, the Arts Council, and the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program.

2010 he received the Alabama State Bar President’s Award. He also serves on the council of the Alabama
Law Institute, a legislative agency whose purpose is to clarify and simplify
the laws of Alabama, to revise laws that are out-of-date and to fill in gaps in
the law where there exists legal confusion.

members of his community, personally handling cases for the Volunteer Lawyers
Program and serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Madison
County Volunteer Lawyers Program.
