Rebecca Wilson concentrates her litigation practice in the areas of employment law and professional liability. Ms. Wilson’s practice focuses primarily on the representation of employers in litigation matters including wrongful termination and discrimination litigation (gender, sexual harassment, age, disability, national origin, and race discrimination) in state and federal courts in Massachusetts and before administrative agencies including the EEOC and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Strategic counseling and training of employers to avoid litigation is also an important part of Ms. Wilson’s practice. Ms. Wilson counsels clients on issues that arise in their day-to-day business activities including employee discipline and termination, compliance with various state and federal statutes governing the employment relationship, and the preparation of employment handbooks, policies, employment contracts and employee non-compete agreements.
Ms. Wilson has been consistently recognized as a New England Super Lawyer in Employment Law for her effectiveness in helping employers avoid employment law problems where possible, and resolve them efficiently and effectively when necessary.
Ms. Wilson’s practice also includes defending a variety of professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers in licensing proceedings and in malpractice actions. Ms. Wilson also has extensive experience defending products liability claims. She represented A.H. Robins Company statewide in cases involving the Dalkon Shield, an allegedly defective intrauterine device.
Ms. Wilson is active in the legal community. Ms. Wilson is a past member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel, a peer-reviewed, invitation-only organization of corporate and defense attorneys, and past chair of its Employment Law Committee. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. Ms. Wilson was appointed as a Hearing Committee Member on attorney discipline cases by the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. Ms. Wilson was inducted as a Charter Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society, and is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. Ms. Wilson is a frequent speaker about the defense and prevention of employment practices cases.
