Brock Johnston is a partner of the firm and Chair of the Higher Learning Group and Co-Chair of the Infrastructure, Construction & Procurement Group. He is also a member of the Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Lending Groups and Corporate & Commercial Groups.
Brock has been included as a Lexpert Ranked Lawyer in Lexpert's Canada's Leading Infrastructure Lawyers which was published in the September 2014 edition of the Globe & Mail's Report on Business magazine. He is also a Lexpert Ranked Lawyer in the area of Property Leasing in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory. Brock has also been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada for Real Estate Law.
Brock serves a broad range of corporate, commercial, institutional and public sector clients. His practice focuses on the procurement of infrastructure by the public sector, whether as counsel for government and publicly funded clients, or on behalf of private sector bidders and contractors. In addition, Brock represents leading investors in commercial real estate, including real estate investment trusts (REITS) and other institutions, both domestic and off shore.
He has extensive experience with a broad range of commercial lending on behalf of lenders and borrowers, whether on a senior secured, mezzanine, specific asset backed or other bases, and represents clients on the purchase or sale of businesses.
Prior to joining Clark Wilson as a partner Brock practiced for many years with a large Toronto law firm. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts, Honours English from York University in Toronto and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 1981. He speaks and reads French.
