John's practice focuses on civil litigation with emphasis on international trade and regulatory law.
In addition, he provides general and strategic advice to clients on energy-related, rail transportation and trade matters including issues arising under North American electricity regulatory regimes, the Columbia River Treaty, NAFTA and the WTO.
He has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, New Brunswick and other Canadian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
He has frequently appeared before numerous administrative tribunals including enrgy related tribunals such as the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Manitoba PUB, the Yukon Utilities Board and the National Energy Board .
He has also appeared before the Canada Transportation Agency (including Final Offer and Service level Agreement Arbitrations) and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and numerous Panels established under Chapters 11 and 19 of NAFTA.
