A graduate of the law faculty of Universidade de Lisboa (1996), where he lectured (1997-1999), he has more than 15 years’ experience in tax law. He is dual-qualified as a lawyer in Portugal and in Vaud, Switzerland. Focusing on wealth taxation, Nuno Cunha Barnabé currently co-heads PLMJ’s private client team. He has a reputation for advising high net worth individuals. During his career his name has been associated with domestic and international tax advice on M&A, corporate restructuring, private equity, foreign investment, financial transactions and more recently, aviation. Nuno Da Cunha Barnabé is a judge of the Portuguese tax arbitration court (CAAD). He is also a member of the AIP – Portuguese Fiscal Association, IFA - International Fiscal Association and the Portuguese Association of Tax Consultants. He is recognised by the Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers directories. In 2013, he was responsible for PLMJ’s nomination by the Financial Times for innovative lawyers in the category of private clients.
