Nicolas Leblanc is the co-chair of Fasken Martineau’s Montreal Real Estate Group, and is also a member of the firm’s Infrastructure Group. Nicolas has developed a diverse transactional practice in real estate and is frequently involved in major projects and transactions. He represents a broad range of institutional investors, developers and financial institutions in various types of multijurisdictional transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of real estate portfolios, setting up joint ventures and partnerships, development projects and real estate financings. Nicolas has been called upon to act as special counsel in a number of large real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures in the U.S., Europe and Asia for institutional clients. Nicolas has developed a pragmatic and business-minded approach to get the deal done in complex transactions. Recent experiences include leading the buy-out of 11 Target leases for Ivanhoe Cambridge and Oxford Properties Group, one of Lexpert’s Top Ten Deals of 2015, and acting for FDL Group in the sale of a multi-residential portfolio of 3,661 suites to CAPREIT, the largest portfolio transaction in Quebec in 2015.
