Natalie Franks has been providing legal services to the public and private health sectors since 1995 and prior to establishing Health Legal was a partner at a large national law firm.
Natalie has been involved in managing and documenting substantial information technology, clinical and non-clinical tendering and outsourcing projects. She has also drafted a vast range and number of supply and service agreements.
Natalie advises on exposure to liabilities under health related legislation and at common law, good governance, contractual relationships, privacy and strategic issues. She has also assisted with coronial investigations and represented hospitals and their staff at numerous inquests.
Natalie has provided a wide range of advice covering all aspects of medico-legal issues, including consent, medical records, confidentiality, refusal of treatment, privacy and other patient rights issues.
Natalie has acted as probity auditor for significant public hospital outsourcing arrangements and was a member of the former Minister of Health & Aged Care’s Taskforce examining the introduction of electronic health records throughout Australia.
