Michael Abcarian is Managing Partner of the Dallas office of Fisher Phillips – one of the largest law firms in the nation devoted exclusively to the representation of management in labor and employment law. For over 35 years, he has represented employers in diverse industries, private and public. As a litigator, Michael has achieved exceptional success in administrative, bench, jury and appellate litigation. Many of his cases are decisively won in early dismissal motions, saving clients significant time, expense, and the uncertainty of jury determinations and appellate review. But, Michael also excels at seeing problems before they turn into lawsuits, and devotes considerable effort to preventive counseling and training that keeps employers out of the courthouse. Michael handles virtually everything in the employment law arena for employer clients, often serving as a trusted legal advisor to executive management on “bet the company” issues. He frequently appears in proceedings before enforcement agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, and the National Labor Relations Board. Michael is highly adept at complex problem solving.
Michael has been licensed to practice law since 1978, and has been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1983. He is regularly honored by peers and professional organizations for excellence in the practice of law. This is typified by Michael’s frequent listing as a member of elite groups such as: The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White, Inc.); Top-Rated Lawyers in Labor & Employment (The American Lawyer); and Texas Super Lawyers (Texas Monthly Magazine). Michael has long enjoyed the coveted “AV Preeminent" peer review rating awarded by Martindale Hubbell to those few attorneys who have over time demonstrated the highest possible ethical and professional standards in the practice of law. Throughout his career, Michael has been a sought-after speaker, a prolific writer in the field, and a respected mentor to colleagues.
