Megan is an intuitive and skilful member of the Insurance and Health team, with over ten years experience. Megan has extensive experience dealing with claims involving public liability, property damage, professional indemnity, workplace accidents and construction and labour hire matters involving WorkCover. She also provides advice on general indemnity and policy wording.
Megan’s past experience includes defending and pursuing multi-million dollar subrogated recovery claims arising out fire, water or other property damage; defending a multi-million dollar professional indemnity claim involving damage to a State-owned highway; defending subrogated recovery claims by twelve tenants against the owner of a shopping centre damage due to fire; advising on a multi-million dollar personal injury claim involving a truck driver whose own insurance also ultimately responded to the claim and many public liability and property damage claims involving complex contractual indemnity and dual insurance issues.
In addition to her private practice experience, Megan has also worked in the claims department of a large international insurer where she managed claims made in every Australian jurisdiction. Claims handled included significant information technology and software disputes.
Megan is a strategic thinker who follows through all tasks with attention to detail. Her flexible approach allows her to take over a matter at any stage and run the matter efficiently and effectively.
Megan is also named in the 8th edition of Best Lawyers in Australia 2016 in the area of Insurance Law.
