Mr. Wells counsels growing companies and mature enterprises, as well as the investors who finance them. He enjoys helping entrepreneurs and investors to form, fund and exit companies. He has completed over 50 mergers and acquisitions of all sizes and has quarterbacked hundreds of venture capital financings. In addition to negotiating transactions on both coasts and throughout the intermountain states, Mr. Wells has facilitated cross-border deals involving companies in Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Israel and Russia.
In 2000, Mr. Wells joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto. He later helped to open that firm's office in Salt Lake City. When Wilson Sonsini closed its Salt Lake office in 2007, Mr. Wells moved to Ray Quinney & Nebeker, P.C. with Mark Bonham and succeeded Mr. Bonham as leader of Ray Quinney's Venture Practice.
During law school, Mr. Wells was a law clerk for the Honorable Paul M. Peatross, Jr. of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia. Prior to pursuing a career in law, he served as a management consultant for International Technology & Trade Associates, Inc. in Washington, D.C.
