Mark Wright is a member of Goldblatt Partners' labour law group. He has a busy litigation practice representing a wide variety of trade unions, particularly those representing employees in the healthcare, education and fire services sectors and those whose members work in the energy, construction and telecommunications industries.
Mark’s practice focuses on grievance arbitration and proceedings before the Ontario Labour Relations Board. He is particularly well-known for his numerous successes in preventing improper contracting out in the hospital sector, as well as his expertise in disputes relating to bargaining unit structure. In addition to his grievance arbitration and labour board work, Mark represents clients in complicated Workplace Safety and Insurance Board proceedings, in proceedings before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and in picketing injunctions before the Ontario courts.
When not litigating for the firm’s clients, Mark plays in their golf tournaments. He also organizes the firm’s participation in the Harry Rosen Spring Run-Off, which raises money for prostate cancer research, and acts as the auctioneer in our annual Just Results Auction, which raises money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
Mark obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and, after articling with the firm, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991. He also holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree from the University of Toronto. Mark is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers.
