Mark R. Attwood is a Shareholder in the Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and has served on the firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Attwood also served as the Litigation Manager for the Los Angeles office for approximately 15 years.
Mr. Attwood practices employment law litigation and defends all varieties of wrongful termination and discrimination claims before all state and federal courts in California. Mr. Attwood also handles matters arising under ERISA, arbitrations, administrative matters and has handled a variety of appellate matters.
Mr. Attwood frequently speaks and trains on current employment law topics across the spectrum of issues that apply to employees in California. These topics include sexual harassment in the workplace, wage and hour, leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, discipline and termination issues and avoiding workplace litigation. Mr. Attwood has worked with a variety of clients in numerous industries, including retail, banking, healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment, food, non-profit, and public sector.
In addition to his work at the firm, Mr. Attwood is active in the Los Angeles community. Mr. Attwood served as Board Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, and has also served as a big brother. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Mayfield Junior School in Pasadena, California where he was Board Chair. Mr. Attwood is presently on the Board of Directors for Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles. Mr. Attwood has also been named to The Best Lawyers in America© and recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer® in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
Mr. Attwood is a graduate of the University of Utah College of Business (Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, 1981) and College of Law (Juris Doctor 1985) where he was a William H. Leary Scholar and Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Contemporary Law.
